Earth Day is celebrated around the World on April 22 to support Environmental protection.
Where did it come from ?
John McConnell (Peace activist), Gaylord Nelson (US Senator), and Denis Hayes (coordinator) created this day to honor and promote protection of the Earth and its ecosystems.
It was first celebrated in 1970 and now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.
Well I am a day late, but I was just exercising my First Blog and as they say , “Better late than Never”
I’ve put up this picture of Daisy Flower because Daisies are my favorite. And On this Earth Day, as we’re going through a tough time due to Corona virus Pandemic, I thought of putting up a picture of a blooming flower which depicts ” Hope” if perceived positively.
Let me share a little bit about Daisies.
The origin of the word Daisy is the Anglo Saxon “daes eage” which means “day’s eye”. It was given this meaning because daisies open at dawn.
PS: This picture was taken at 7 in the morning and how beautifully the Sun is shining upon this Pretty yellow Beauty.
Daisies are simple and sophisticated and are some of the most beautiful flowers in the floral world.
Daisy also symbolises ‘New Beginnings’ as it blooms with the rising sun. With the World on lockdown and dealing with Global Pandemic, all we need a reason to Smile and Hope for a very new and Healthy Beginning.
On this Earth Day, when entire planet is spending stressing hours, let us pray for those who are suffering from this disease to recover soon, pray for the people who are working day and night for humankind. Be grateful for what we have, because we don’t even have idea how many people are suffering out there who cannot even afford basic things.
Let us Take care of this Planet like our own and Save the Earth.
#Staysafe
As they say :
Heal The World, Make it a better Place..For you and for me and the entire Human race…
There are people dying, if you care enough for the living..
Make it a better place for you and for me…..”
